After completing her studies at the National Opera Academy in The Hague,  winning a scholarship made it possible for Janine to further specialize in Paris, with opera singer Peggy Bouveret (Metropolitan Opera). She also attended master classes at home and abroad.

Janine is regularly invited as a soloist in operas , concerts and oratorios throughout Europe , made   radio and TV recordings with the Radio Symphony Orchestra , the Dutch Bach Society and the Schönberg Ensemble , singing roles in operas by Mozart, Britten , Stravinsky , Janacek , Dvorak and Verdi with, for example , Opera Zuid  , TROS opera series , Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Hungarian State Radio and Opera in the RAI and worked with conductors such as Martin Sieghart , Kenneth Montgomery , Jan Stulen , Ed Spanjaard and Reinbert De Leeuw .

Because of her exceptional vocal flexibility, she was asked  to perform pieces by various contemporary composers . Janine sang the Dutch premiere of the solo piece A Magyar Romokon by Peter Eötvös in Amsterdam and performed several world premieres of  songs and orchestral pieces specially composed for her in various countries .

Moreover, Janine worked as a freelancer at for example the Netherlands Radio Choir, the Salzburg Festival with the Berliner Philharmoniker and Claudio Abbado,  Glyndebourne Festival and Touring Opera with Sir Simon Rattle and is  founder of the Conserto Foundation, which promotes classical music to a broader audience.

As managing director of InCanto Music Management Janine mediates between international top teachers in the field of classical singing and conservatories , festivals and concert organizations . Part of InCanto Music Management is  InCanto International Academy  ( IIA ), where private singing lessons , workshops , courses, summer academies, opera performances and master classes are offered in collaboration with international organisations, singing teachers , directors , conductors, impresarios and pianists .
